Today I'll be sharing my Before and After with Valerio Ramieri. At the beginning of 2024 I had a trimax surgery with this well-known surgeon. It was a great success. This is his Instagram for anyone interested: https://www.instagram.com/Dr.maxilloroma/ At the same time I also went to the gym consistently for 8 whole years and properly got lean, took care of myself in every way possible: skincare, hygiene, diets. The surgery + getting lean changed my life for the better - I get validation, admiration and interest from people I don't even know.
BEFORE THE SURGERY
For as long as I can remember, my jaw and overall facial profile were something that held me back. From the side, my chin looked recessed, my jawline was weak, and my face felt unbalanced. I became extremely conscious of how I looked in photos and around other people.
Dating was probably where I noticed it the most. I hated taking photos from the side, avoided certain angles, and constantly compared myself to other guys. I felt like I could improve everything else such as my body, hair, skin, clothes, groomin, but my facial structure was something I couldn't fix naturally.
I'd see guys with strong jawlines getting attention and I'd wonder why I wasn't getting the same kind of interest. It really got into my head. Even when someone was interested in me, I'd question whether they actually found me attractive or were just being nice. With friends, I was also much more withdrawn than people probably realized. I didn't like being photographed unexpectedly, and in group pictures I'd either position myself carefully or try to avoid being in them altogether. I was constantly aware of my appearance instead of actually enjoying the moment.
AFTER THE SURGERY
Deciding to get trimax surgery was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. I spent months researching it, watching videos, reading experiences and trying to understand exactly what I was getting myself into. It's major facial surgery, so obviously there were risks and plenty of reasons to be scared.
The night before surgery I barely slept. I kept thinking about whether I was making the right decision and what I'd look like afterwards. And also how painful it all would be. And then came the recovery. The first couple of weeks were by far the hardest. I had significant swelling, numbness and discomfort, and eating was extremely difficult. I was basically living on liquids and very soft foods while my face recovered.
At around 2–3 months I could start seeing major changes, but I still had to be patient. The face continued changing as the swelling went down and everything settled. Felt like the longest transformation ever, but I saw results so I was extremely optimistic.
Now, looking back, I genuinely feel like I'm a completely different person. My social life improved because I became more outgoing. Dating life changed for the better since I'm much more comfortable approaching people and putting myself out there. I get more attention than I used to, and I'm not constantly questioning whether someone actually finds me attractive.
For me, it was about changing something that had bothered me for years and that I genuinely felt was holding me back. The gym, getting lean, skincare, grooming and dressing well all helped me but surgery addressed the one thing none of those could change: my underlying facial structure.
I paid total of 15k euros base price + 6k euros for custom plates for precision and less risk.
It was the most difficult thing mentally and physically but it was 1000% worth it.
