Guidelines for the Cosmetic Surgery section

This section is for serious discussion of procedures, surgeons, costs, recovery, and results. Members here are often weighing decisions that are expensive and difficult to undo, so the standard expected of posts is higher than elsewhere on the board.

1. Anything to do with cosmetic surgery belongs here, whether you are researching a procedure, asking questions before you commit to one, comparing surgeons, or writing up what you went through afterwards. You do not need to have had surgery yourself to take part, though first hand accounts of cost and recovery are the most useful thing anyone can post.
2. This board is not a marketplace. Do not source, offer, sell, or arrange the transfer of prescription medication, injectables, fillers, or surgical equipment, and do not link to anyone who does.
3. You may name a surgeon or a clinic when writing about your own treatment. Keep it to what you personally experienced. Please do not publish claims you cannot stand behind, and do not post another person's medical records, photographs, or private correspondence.
4. Nothing in this section is medical advice. Members are not your surgeon and cannot assess you from a photograph. Those decisions belong with a qualified practitioner who has examined you in person.
5. Blunt assessments are to be expected here. Disagree with the plan rather than the person. Telling someone their expectations look unrealistic is reasonable and often kind. Mocking their face, or their reasons for wanting surgery, is neither.

Threads that fall outside these guidelines may be edited, moved, or removed. Repeated disregard will be handled through the usual moderation process.
